“IN A CITY WHERE THE ELITE ARE POWERFUL AS GODS, THE SEASON IS ABOUT TO BEGIN.
Harlow Krane is a sorcière who only wants to recover from her most recent breakup in peace, but her Order needs her help to save their ancestral district from being taken over by the Illuminated Order. They offer to back off—if Harlow agrees to pair with their most eligible bachelor, Finn McKay. Harlow has been burned by Finn before, and refuses to be drawn into his Order’s web of alluring lies.
When the season starts, it’s clear something has gone dangerously wrong and only Finn and Harlow seem to notice. They must work together to keep ancient grudges from resurfacing and take back their lives in the process. “
This eventual trilogy currently includes Dark Night Golden Dawn and Beneath the Alabaster Spire. The final book in the trilogy is scheduled for release in 2023.

“ When I first started this piece I was trying to capture the heat and the comfort that I felt in the warm sun after a long and rocky Portland winter followed a tantalizingly cool spring where a ray of sun always seemed just out of reach. But when it the sun came out it was hot and, having grown up mostly in the south, it felt though I was alive again. Laying in the grass and listening to the small movements in the grass all around me and feeling the rays licking my skin, I felt as though I was laying on the most comfortable bed, one where nothing could ever cause me harm.
This year I’ve been trying to be outside as much as possible, having learned that my personal S.A.D. remedy is taking at least a 45 minute walk every morning and maybe spending an hour sitting in the garden outback area of a now-deserted building nearby. In light of everything going on I’ve of course taken precautions and do my best to avoid people, and it’s lovely to be outside. Everything is in bloom and stretching out towards the sun.
But because of covid it all feels different. There’s a knotted ball of stress in the back of my head all the time, and the mask I wear is a constant reminder. But when people pass by I overhear conversations full of positive affirmations and optimism, and those words seem to echo back to me in the wind rustling the grass or the bees humming around the yard : “Don’t worry, this summer will be beautiful too” -2020
